Alternative High School ? Why are they needed?
Alternative schools serve youth with psychiatric problems. These youth are not able to remain in the public education system as they are constantly being reprimanded due to their emotional or behavioural issues. They often cannot bond with other children since they have different needs and need to be taught in a different manner. However teachers and administration of public education schools simply are not equipped enough to deal with children who have psychological disorders. Hence the need for an alternative high school for children with psychological, behaiourval or emotional problems.
